PART 2-The Swearing-In Ceremony of Cal Hendrick, Craig Stoker, Eddie Mitchell and Steve Thompson

Odessa, Texas/November 22, 2024-On Tuesday, November 19th,  the Ector Theatre was host to a packed house that included representatives from Ector County, ECISD, the hospital district and former State Representative Tryon Lewis and others for the swearing-in ceremony for the new City of Odessa Mayor, Cal Hendrick; Steve Thompson, District 2; the new City of Odessa Councilman At-Large Graig Stoker, and the new Councilman, District 1 Eddie Mitchell.

Steve Thompson was re-elected and sworn-in as Odessa City Councilman, District 2. 

Craig Stoker was sworn-in as Odessa City Councilman At-large and plans to reach out to the Texas Municipal League to begin a search for an interim City Manager.

Cal Henrick was sworn in by his former law partner. The first order of business at the November 26th City Council meeting is to look at contracts, ordinances and personnel.

State Representative Brooks Landgraf was the MC for the event. The swearing Ceremony ended with the song “Happy Days Are Here Again.”

Odessa City Council Has a New Mayor, District 1 and New City Councilman At Large Steve Thompson is Re-elected

Odessa, Texas/November 7, 2024-Residents of Odessa wanted change and they got it with the election of the new incoming Mayor, Cal Hendrics, Craig Stoker, the new At-Large and Eddie Mitchell, who will be representing City of Odessa, District 1. Incumbent Steve Thompson was re-elected to Odessa City Council District 2 defeating Nayely Urias. Cal Hendricks and the new council will focus on the needs of Odessa.

Craig Stoker will soon be sworn-in as Odessa City Councilman, At-Large and on day one will be assessing the issues that the previous City Council administration may have inflicted on the city of Odessa.

Eddie Mitchell defeated Councilman, District 1 Mark Matta. Mitchell goal is to revitalized southside Odessa by increasing homebuilding, high-end eateries and grocery stores.

Ronnie Lewis, Ector County Republican Party, Precinct Chair 203 and a staunch critic of the current Odessa City Council, is happy that the newly elected City Council Members will now focus on the needs of the City.

Donna Kelm, Ector County Republican Chair is excited and hopeful for the new city leadership. 

Cal Hendricks, Craig Stoker, Eddie Mitchell and Steve Thompson will be sworn-in on November 21st. The first meeting with the new council is on November 26th.

Nayely Urias, Candidate for Odessa City Council District 2 Holds Meet & Greet Event

Odessa, Texas/October 7, 2025-Nayely Urias, a candidate for Odessa City Council, District 2 held a meet and greet and fundraising event hosted by Jack Jordan’s Bar-B-Que. Members of the local Republican Party and guests came out to support the District 2 Candidate.

Critics have pointed out the Ms. Urias has never voted in any local election or participated in any political campaign. Candidate Nayely Urias explains why she never participated in the election process.
