Hispanic Heritage of Odessa Celebrates the Life and Times of Salvador Guerrero
Odessa, Texas/September 22, 2024-Hispanic Heritage of Odessa and members of the local chapter of LULAC celebrated the life and times of Salvador Guererro hosted by the Ector County Library. The library featured a display of photos and memorabilia of the once community and political leader of the southside Odessa community.

Salvador Guerrero was a World War II veteran, who served in the 348th Amphibious Engineer Combat Battalion. He was painter and an author who wrote Memorias, A West Texas Life.

In the mid to late 70’s Salvador Guerrero hosted the first Mex-Tex radio show on Sunday mornings from 7am to 11am on AM1410 KRIG Radio, and was a co-host of the popular Spanish variety show Mexico-Tejano from the late 70’s to the mid 90’s.
I know this because I was there for some of Sal’s celebrity adventures.
