Odessa, Texas/December 12, 2022-The Odessa Chamber of Commerce held their annual Holiday Open House, at the Chamber of Commerce offices at the Bank of America building located in downtown Odessa. Local business representatives, City of Odessa and Ector County officials and guests enjoyed a variety of finger foods and drinks.

Texas Scholars Program Hosted by the Odessa Chamber of Commerce-DRB Media Communications Digital News

Odessa, Texas/October 10, 2022-The Texas Scholar Program is a program of the Odessa Chamber of Commerce for students, 9th thru 12th grade. The Texas Scholar Program encourages students to volunteer and be move involved in the community.

Approximately 150 non-profit agencies have been approved by the Odessa Chamber of Commerce to receive Texas Scholar hours. Twenty agencies participated in the Texas Scholars Program event at the Dick and Amelia Saulsbury Conference Center at Odessa College.

The Odessa Chamber of Commerce began the Texas Scholar Program in 1997 and the program usually starts at the beginning of the school year.

The Texas Scholar Program is not a requirement for students however, a large number of students are already volunteering at approved agencies.

LULAC 2024 Convention In Odessa, Texas Announcement-DRB Media Communications Digital News

Odessa, Texas/October 3, 2022-The League of United Latin American Citizens recently announced that Odessa, Texas will be city to host the 2024 LULAC Convention. Representatives from the Odessa Chamber of Commerce and Discover Odessa joined officials with the Texas State organization of LULAC for the announcement.

The 2024 LULAC Convention will also conduct seminars and workshops focusing on women empowerment and issues that are affecting women on a local and state level.

Lynn Van Amburgh Retiring From The Odessa Chamber of Commerce After 25 Years of Service-DRB Media Communications Digital News

Odessa, Texas/October 1, 2022-The Odessa Chamber of Commerce hosted the retirement party in honor of Lynn Van Amburgh, Director of Operations for the Chamber. Lynn started as a receptionist in 1998, promoted to Economic Development, then to Director of Operations.

Odessa, Texas/September 21, 2022-The Odessa Chamber of Commerce recently held its annual banquet at the Odessa Marriott Hotel and Conference Center. New board members, directors and new chairman were installed.

Odessa, Texas/July 27, 2022-During the regular scheduled meeting of the Ector County Commissioner’s the court considered engaging in a real estate broker contract with J.L. Herriage/doing business as Copper Key Realty in the possible sale of the Ector County Coliseum.

The Commissioner’s Court was informed by Copper Key Realty, about 7 to 8 weeks prior to the July 26th, regularly scheduled commissioner’s court meeting.

An offer between $25 to $30 million dollars to purchase the Ector County Coliseum was made, but was turned down by the commissioner’s Court.

The World-Famous Chuck Wagon Gang and several organizations that hold events at the coliseum for decades voiced their opposition to potential sale of the venue.
