Odessa City Council Vote in Favor of Not Enforcing Imposed National or State of Texas Covid Mandates
Odessa, Texas/September 13, 2023-The Odessa City Council has partnered with Republican State Representative Brian Harrison of the 10th District to reject any State or Federal mandates associated with Covid.

The Texas Covid Freedom Act is a comprehensive Bill that would have banned all Covid Mandates in the State. This Bill passed the Texas House Public Health Committee and was overwhelmingly passed by the Texas Senate. The Leadership of the Texas House of Representatives killed the bill and allowed Covid mandates to continue.

Odessa City Councilman, District 5 Chris Hanie authored the resolution that appeared as item 14 on the Odessa City Council Agenda, “That the City of Odessa will not enforce any mandates imposed nationally or by the State of Texas”
