DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(060322)-RENOVATIONS OF THE CEED BUILDING/UTPB MIDLAND CAMPUS

Midland, Texas/June 3, 2022-The University of Texas Permian Basin’s Center for Energy and Economic Diversification, known as the CEED Building is undergoing major renovations to develop spaces to support innovation and entrepreneurship.

There will be 4 main areas of development under the renovations. The Innovation Corridor which will run through the center of the building; the Conference and Event Space; SBDC offices, which will be relocated within the Innovation Corridor, and two labs that will be located at the back of the CEED building.

Funding for the renovations to the Center for Energy and Economic Diversification Building were provided from several sources.

Once the renovations to the CEED Building are completed, the university will focus on three main industries, water, energy which includes oil and gas and aerospace.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(060222)-ECISD DEVELOPMENT OFFICE MURAL DEDICATION

Odessa, Texas/June 2, 2022-Ector County ISD and Odessa Arts celebrated the 100 years of ECISD with the dedication of a new mural by Koda Witsken at the Ector County ISD Development Center at the corner of 10th and Golder. 

Officials with the City of Odessa and City Council as well as ECISD school board representatives and members of the Odessa Chamber of Commerce attended the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The mural is described as a representation of ECISD’s past and present and of the district’s belief that “Our Students are Our Future.

The mural colors have a 25 to 30-year lifespan and is coated to protect the mural from extreme West Texas weather and Graffiti.

The location of the mural was chosen by committee that included members of the ECISD school district and Randy Ham, Executive Director of Odessa Arts.

Plans are now underway for more city art projects with one begining some time in September.

Odessa, Texas/May 26, 2022-The Odessa Chamber of Commerce hosted the Community National Bank groundbreaking ceremony at 8040 East Hwy. 191, west of MCH Center for Health and Wellness. In October of 2018, Community National Bank acquired 1.7 acres of land with hopes of opening a location between Midland and Odessa.

The 8 thousand square foot building will house a Mortgage Center along with the entire Odessa Team.

The East Odessa location will be the Odessa Community National Bank headquarters with CNB branches across West Texas.

Along with traditional banking Community National Bank will also be engaged in cryptocurrency Cryptocurrencies are systems that allow for secure payments online which are denominated in terms of virtual “tokens,”

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(052022)-MEDICAL CENTER HOSPITAL STOP THE BLEED TRAINING

Odessa, Texas/May 20, 2022-On Thursday, May 19th, Medical Center Health System and Odessa Mayor Javier Joven recognized May 19th as National Stop the Bleed Day. Two free Stop the Bleed classes were held at the Medical Center Hospital boardroom following the special proclamation.

The purpose of the Stop the Bleed program is to educate the community though hands-on training on three quick was to control serious bleeding

The next Stop the Bleed Class is scheduled on June 3rd from 2pm to 4pm at the Rankin County Hospital in Rankin, Texas for staff and the public.

Odessa, Texas/May 23, 2022-The Midland Fire Department held their annual Water Safety Training Day at Doug Russell Pool on Monday, May 23rd . Midland Firefighter trained on various lifesaving techniques such as drowning prevention, treatment of drowning patients, and swift water rescue

During the late spring and summer months, severe weather can cause major flooding in low lying areas. Midland firefights prepare through this type of water training.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(051722)-ODESSA POLICE INVESTIGATING MURDER OF A FEMALE

Odessa, Texas/May 17, 2022-During the evening hours of Monday, May 16th Odessa Police and Odessa Fire Rescue responded to a call of a deceased person at the Parkway Inn Motel located at 3731 East Highway 80. The investigation revealed that a female had been stabbed multiple times and was unresponsive. Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division began investigating the death of the adult female. 

An arrest warrant was issued for Jose Sarinana, 46, for the offense of Murder- First Degree Felony. He has been placed into custody and was transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.  

The victim has been identified as Cynthia Ann Mendoza, 46 years of age, from Lamesa, TX.
