Odessa,Texas/June 11, 2021-On June 10, 2021 at approximately 7:53 pm, officers responded to a suicide threats call in the 4600 block of Lamont Avenue involving a 61 year-old white female. As officers were speaking with the female subject, she pointed a gun at their direction and an officer fired his department issued firearm, striking her. Odessa Fire and Rescue were called to the scene and transported the female subject to Medical Center Hospital for medical treatment. No Odessa Police Department officers were injured during this call. This investigation has been turned over to the Texas Rangers.
