ODESSA, TEXAS/MARCH 3, 2021-RECENTLY, THE ODESSA COLLEGE RODEO TEAM HOSTED A ROEDO COMPETION AT ECTOR COUNTY COLISEUM. SEVERAL COLLEGES COMPETED IN SEVERAL EVENTS THAT INCLUDED TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL CALF ROPING AND SADDLE BRONC RIDING COMPETITIONS.

SAFETY IS A PRIORITY FOR COMPETETORS AND THE ANIMALS USED IN THE COLLEGE RODEO. SAFETY GEAR SUCH AS SAFETY VEST AND OTHER SAFETY EQUIPMENT IS USED.

CHAD PHIPPS IS FROM KINGAROY, AUSTRALIA AND IS A COMPETITOR WITH THE ODESSA COLLEGE RODEO TEAM. CHAD WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN A GOOD GPA IN HIS HOME- TOWN SCHOOL AND WAS ABLE TO EARN A SPOT AT ACADEMICALLY AT ODESSA COLLEGE. HIS GOAL IS TO COMPETE IN PRO AM RODEOS OVER THE SUMMER AND EARN HIS PRO CARD AND COMPETE ON A PRO LEVEL AFTER COLLEGE.
