Odessa, Texas/December 7, 2020-An arrest has been made in connection to a murder that occurred Sunday in Southwest Odessa. Damien Dubree Smith, 38 years of age, has been charged with Murder “1st Degree Felony”. On Sunday, December 6th , 2020 at approximately 2:21a.m., Odessa Police responded to the 500 block of Lauderdale Avenue in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers observed a deceased 31-year-old female with a gunshot wound to the face. The investigation revealed that a disturbance occurred over money. Smith shot the 31-year-old female in the face and fled the scene before police arrived. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene. The U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Smith earlier this evening, Monday, December 7th, in the 200 block of Hudson.
